Propane is refined from natural gas and crude oil. It has a large infrastructure of storage facilities. Propane is currently available at over 3000 thousand "gas" stations across the country. Many vendors hyave conversion kits available but it should probably be done only by a competant mechanic. It is certainly a popular "fleet" conversion.

While propane is a fossil fuel, compared with vehicles fueled by conventional diesel and gasoline, propane vehicles can produce significantly lower amounts of some harmful emissions and the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide.Plus it reduces our dependance on foreign supplies since 85% is produced locally. Just like gasoline, the cost of propane fluctuates.
